DP World, a leading provider of global end-to-end supply chain solutions, has signed up to support Light the South which takes place in Southampton and Cowes over the summer.
The spectacular free art trail features 40 lighthouses, each standing 8ft tall, crafted by a selection of top local and renowned artists to form unique masterpieces. In addition to the main trail, there are 40 smaller sculptures called Little Lights, designed by local schools and community groups, creating a family-friendly trail of discovery and adventure for both visitors and residents to explore and enjoy.
Light the South will run throughout the summer until September 1st and end with a grand farewell finale where all the Lighthouse sculptures will be brought together under one roof at the Southampton International Boat Show to be auctioned to raise money for Southampton Hospitals Charity to support Southampton Children’s Hospital.
Ellis Banfield, Southampton Hospitals Charity Chief Executive, said: “We are enormously grateful for DP World’s support of the Light the South art trail. Their generous contribution allows us to bring this exciting event to life and highlights their commitment to our community. We are incredibly pleased to have such a dedicated partner in making a positive difference.”
DP WorldJohn Trenchard, Vice President, Commercial & Supply Chain UK, said: “DP World is committed to supporting local communities and leaving a lasting and positive legacy across the regions in which we operate. We are proud to be part of the Light the South art trail and to be supporting Southampton Children’s Hospital. We hope the residents and visitors enjoy the trail and the challenge of finding all the lighthouses.”
