As a school, it has been important to support such a worthwhile local charity and the fantastic medical care that Southampton Children’s Hospital provides. We held a whole school assembly to launch this exciting project to the children. Everyone was given the opportunity to design a section of the lighthouse and a winner was chosen from each year group. Then, some Year 6 artists worked together to transfer the winning designs onto our little light. The designs chosen reflect our school values alongside land and seascapes. We also felt that it was important that everyone had the chance to contribute to the lighthouse, so the bottom section shows our school learning tree. Every child has added their fingerprint as a leaf in their house colour to the tree.
